ATTENTION: A NEW SKIN IS BEING INSTALLED. PLEASE BE PATIENT, AS THE SITE MAY LOOK FUNNY. THANKS! c:
As of June 24th, 2011, Konara Forests is closed.
I apologize to the loyal members who came back year after year, I am sorry that I couldn't have given you a better site or better activity, for all you did for me and the site ♥
And to the curious wanderers who found this site and were interested in joining, I am also sorry. I do not have the time or muse for a Warriors roleplaying site anymore, not even one with exotic colors and mutations. But I assure you, we were the first to try it, and we probably won't be the last.
Rest In Peace Konara Forests, November 2007 to May 2011. You did your best, and so did we. Time to close your book and place it in our box of memories.
If you would like to save your character biographies, threads, anything, feel free to. I will be closing down the rest of the site soon. E-mail me at konara.forests@yahoo.com if you have any questions. I, Leafmoon, can be found at www.timebringer.deviantart.com if you would like to stay in touch. Thank you for making Konara Forests wonderful while it lasted!
I am not really interested in giving Konara Forests over to new owners, however if you really want it you can contact me at the above e-mail and we'll see. In general, though, I think it's time to lay Konara Forests to rest.

to thereformation.
The Clans of thunder, wind, river, and shadow are long
gone, existing as ghosts of memory in the oldest of
minds.
Here, colonies are the name of the game. Primal,
simple, and relatively lawless. StarClan is unknown to
these felines, for they live without medicine cats and
without fear or thought of the afterlife. Colonies consist
of one head queen, the Matriarch, and her second-
in-command, the Assistant. The rest are all daughters,
nieces, aunts, sisters, and newcomers. When a tom reaches his eighth moon, he is forced out into the world, where he must
live a life of endless battle. Claiming territory
and defending it will become his biggest goals. A female
within the colony has the option to stay amongst her family,
or journey out into the world to try to find a new colony.
It's not the best way of life, but it works. The cult is trying to change that.
A mystic has settled in the area, claiming to have been
visited by StarClan, and told to start a new way of life.
The cult functions with the Leader at top, the
Sequel for the second-in-command, and their own
Healer, who maintains contact between the cult and
StarClan. The rest of the followers are gender-mixed, and
all strive to keep peace within the cult, and between the
cult and the colonies. They practice strange ceremonies,
such as leaving a dead comrade out and above ground to rot
- "so their spirit can fly home safely." They worship a
deity called Moonmother, said to be the keeper of all the
StarClanners, believed to be children who have returned home
to the night sky. The cult can even seem to predict when
disaster will strike, and always warns the colonies
as a sign of goodwill.
But the colonies are becoming suspicious.
Cats outside the cult disappear at times, later
found left in a forest clearing to decay. Whenever a
prey shortage or storm is on the way, the cult seems to know first. The colonies detect something
sinister about the seemingly peaceful group. And the cult
is displeased with the colonies and their lack of faith.
Tensions only rise as the sun sets each night.

Not all of the jagged cliffs and hillside woods are claimed in the northwest of the forests. Many go undisturbed and unexplored by the colonies, making them ideal homes for the wandering souls of the world. Here the air grows cold and thin; most cats who abide here at length are thick-coated and able to endure altitudes at which many ground-dwellers would faint.
Beyond the reaches of stable landholders lie miles of windswept grassy hills that in some places rise to high, flat plateaus, and sink to swampy valleys and marshes in others. The wind here is powerful, often dangerous in the summer, if a cat cannot find a low place to hide. In winter, it is frigid and merciless; some cats seek homes beneath the ground, or leave it altogether.
Despite the affinity of the swimmers for water, much of the river has been left empty of colony cats, leaving the surrounding forests and rolling banks open to the occasional wanderer. The river here is ever-changing and unreliable; in some places flowing gently and peaceably, while in others white with foam as it rages over claw-sharp rocks. It is forested on all sides, save where it meets the mouth of the lake, and evergreen trees meet seasonal ones along the banks.
Surrounded by high forbidding peaks and icy rivers, this is the part of the Haunted Woods that goes largely overlooked. The stillness in this wood is eerie, and the source of its name. Very little light reaches the forest floor save in clearings that in this place become small havens of light. The cats who live here oft grow wary, never sure that the rustling above them is not some fell creature waiting to pounce.
Uncomfortably close to the cult's lands lies a well-trod vale betwixt all four colony territories. The country is worn and hilly, wholly treeless except where the mountains begin and the land begins to slope away to the north, east, and west. The rest of it gradually flows downward to the lakeshore. Were the rivers to flood, this valley would be hit first and hardest.
