[/b] ilenteagle[/color][/blockquote] cherish the moments we may never again see cherish the power to always be free[/blockquote] The warrior snickered a little as Duskleaf replied, rising and dusting off her dignity. With her suggestion, he nodded, feeling oddly happy to follow her, to spend more time with her. As they passed the clearing where he left his catches for the day, he picked them up carefully and continued to follow the dark she-cat, catching himself staring at her occasionally. What is wrong with you?! Stop acting so kitlike! Yet try as he might, he couldn't avert his eyes from her sleek fur, and her bright green eyes... The sunlight gave her a warm, earthy glow, and Silenteagle couldn't help but think she was very pretty. He felt his ears grow warm, and he shook his head to try to clear the feeling. "It's a nice day out," he mewed softly, suddenly feeling very akward and out-of-place.[/blockquote]

Duskleaf laughed. "What's got into you? All shy all of a sudden," She turned around to face him when their eyes met. She suddenly felt as if she was shrinking inside, and before long it felt as if she was as tiny as an ant. "But yes, it is a nice day today," Duskleaf flicked her tail happily and walked on. She tried to focus on other things like what she would do if she was to become a deputy and so on, but no matter how hard she tried she could not tear her thoughts away from Silenteagle. Do I look OK? Or did all that jumping around mess up my fur? She couldn't help it. She loved the way his muscles rippled under his soft coat gleaming in the sun, and the way he looked at her... Duskleaf shivered. What was Silenteagle turning her into? Although somehow, she was strangely enjoying it. She turned to face Silenteagle. "So... If you did become deputy, what would you do?"

[/b] ilenteagle[/color][/blockquote] cherish the moments we may never again see cherish the power to always be free[/blockquote] The tom didn't reply to Duskleaf's question, for he was asking himself the same thing. It isn't possible... no, it doesn't happen this fast... you only hung out with her for a day... Even though Silenteagle had known the she-cat for as long as he could remember, to him it felt as though he had only known her a day or so, the sudden presence of these feelings catching him offguard. Well... maybe it's possible you do like her... The thought both made his tail sag and made his heart leap. But what if she doesn't like you? What if it stops you from becoming deputy? What if... what if.... what if... The rampage of confused ideas stopped when their eyes met, his sun colored eyes staring into her forest colored irises, and after a few seconds Silenteagle pretended to focus on a bird flying over. Maybe she ... does ... like me. The thought seemed so strange, it almost made the dark tabby burst out laughing, but he resorted to just a small smile. His mind snapped back to reality when Duskleaf started walking away, and he quickly followed her, still carrying his catches. One ear flicked at her question, and he had to answer around a mouthful of fur and feathers. "I would send out more hunting patrols, and pay more attention at gatherings, since at the last one, the Clans were complaining of mysterious disappearances of their Clanmates... and then a giant pine tree rose out of the middle of the grounds, and it was covered in glittering pinecones, and gave cats special powers..." He shuddered at the memory of Wishstar receiving three tails, and strange little Amoristkit suddenly walking on air, and of Timebringer receiving saber fangs... The tabby paused mid-step, his mind suddenly in a whirl; all the weirdest mutations had happened to the TornadoClan cats! It was a dark thought, and it made him suddenly feel very wary and unsure of things, as he looked up at the glowing sun, and noticed a huge rolling stormcloud in the distance. Slowly he shook his head, speaking half to himself. "There's something coming, Duskleaf, I fear. Things just keep getting stranger and stranger... first the disappearances, then the Mystic Tree, then this giant stormcloud in the distance... " He sighed and turned back to follow Duskleaf, his mind clouded with newly hatched concerns.[/blockquote]

Duskleaf stopped and turned to look at him, her green eyes clouded with concern. "Well, that storm cloud could just blow over.. and I'm sure everything can be explained. And the special powers- well, for all we know it could be a good thing. It isn't always bad news Silenteagle," She flicked her tail and walked to nuzzle Silenteagle. She hoped he didn't feel too uncomfortable with her doing this, but she very much enjoyed burying her head into his soft fur. After this Duskleaf smiled a pretty smile at him. "And if the worst does come to the worst, we still have each other. We are like the stars. On our own we twinkle, in a group we shine. It will be alright Silenteagle- trust me." Duskleaf looked infront of her to see blossom everywhere. All on the trees, the branches, on the ground. "Oh how romantic!" She exclaimed, without thinking about it. She blushed, realising how awkward she had now made the situation. She couldn't help chuckling slightly at how stupid that must have looked.

[/b] ilenteagle[/color][/blockquote] cherish the moments we may never again see cherish the power to always be free[/blockquote] The dark tabby nodded solemnly at Duskleaf's words, finding comfort and reassurance in their pure honesty. She is right; somehow, things will turn out for the better. I need to stop being so pessimistic and start looking on the bright side of things. He laid his catch down at his feet to rest his jaws, seeing that they weren't really moving at the moment. We get distracted so easily don't we? he thought with a small smile to himself, finding even more humour in how he was referring to him and Duskleaf as "we". The brown tabby replayed her nuzzling him in his head, finding an extreme pride that she felt comfortable enough to do that with him, and no other tom. She could have any tom, I'm sure-- Hawkstar or even a tom from another Clan. And yet, she likes me, I am sure of it. He hoped he was right. At Duskleaf's exclamation at the newleaf blossums upon the trees, he figured now was as best time as any to take a leap of faith. Padding over to sit beside her, he curled his thick, striped tail around her lithe form, bending his head a little shyly but still in her direction. "You're right, it is romantic," he said casually, but inside his stomach had suddenly hatched a cluster of butterflies. [/blockquote][/size]

Duskleaf smiled and blushed. It was so special, being with Silenteagle. "I love being a warrior," She said suddenly. "It's just so unreal. When I think of all the kittypets out there with their twolegs, I feel sorry for them. I love the responsibilty and pride of being in a Clan. And especially, I love being with you." Duskleaf licked Silenteagle on the nose. She knew she loved him. And she figured he liked her too. Duskleaf looked around at the the bright blue sky, the bright green leaves on the trees, swaying in the wind. "It's just so beautiful," She sighed. She lent into Silenteagle's shoulder. Duskleaf then looked up at him, blinking prettily. "So," she said. "What are we going to do now?"

[/b] ilenteagle[/color][/blockquote] cherish the moments we may never again see cherish the power to always be free[/blockquote] The dark tabby couldn't help but feel his ears grow hot when he saw Duskleaf blushing. Nobody'[s ever blushed from being around me before. Amber eyes followed the shifting shadows of light passing through the leaves of the trees, as two black ears tuned themselves to the brown she-cat's words. She is right, being a warrior is an experience no other could possibly compare with. When Duskleaf mentioned how she held sympathy for the kittypets, Silenteagle couldn't help but feel a pang of mixed emotions: shame, regret, and slight offense. His thoughts shifted back to his days as a kittypet, growing up with his abusive older siblings, and finally running to find himself in the life of a warrior. Slowly, though, the thoughts dissolved as he felt a warm, scratchy lick on his nose, and his amber eyes blinked with amusement at the she-cat beside him. She loved him for being, well, him... growing up a kittypet surely didn't change that? With her comments on the skies, he looked up as well, taking in the whispy clouds high above the canopy of the mixed forest. Even the forest is mixed. Having kittypet in your veins isn't as rare and dishonorable as cats think. Feeling a warm pressence against his shoulder, the tabby tom leant back against her slightly, enjoying the feeling of her right next to him. Things just didn't seem as bad when Duskleaf was beside him. "I don't know, though I suspect Hawkstar would really appreciate us bringing back some fresh-kill. We've been gone all day," Silenteagle replied practically, but with an amused tone to his voice. His face lowered to hers to give her a small nuzzle, amber eyes studying her own leaf green. Almost nobody remembers me appearing as a kittypet to the Clan. And it won't matter if she knows or not; she loves me for who I am, not who I was.[/blockquote][/size]

Duskleaf giggled slightly. "Yes," she chuckled. "Of course," She began to lead the way back into the forest. Birds were still singing, and the sky was still blue, but the sun was beginning to set. "You know, Silenteagle," She began. "Your eyes remind me of the sun. So brilliant and bright, and when you see them you instantly feel happy," At first Duskleaf was happy with her choice of words. But as they continued walking, something struck her heart. What am I doing? She thought. Why do I love him? I barely even know him. I must stop! After all, he may not like me. He may only be doing this to please me. What kind of she-cat would that make me? Duskleaf stopped and took a deep breath. She looked at the ground. Everything was so silent, she could hear her own heart beating. And it was beating fast. "Silenteagle," She began, trying so hard to drag the words out of her mouth. "Truthfully- do you really love me?" Sharp claws began raking at her heart when she said the words, but she knew she had to ask him this question. How could she continue with loving him, if he didn't even love her?

[/b] ilenteagle[/color][/blockquote] cherish the moments we may never again see cherish the power to always be free[/blockquote] The dark brown tabby purred with pride and amusement as Duskleaf described what she saw in him, his heart beating to a completely different tune it seemed. He couldn't imagine any other she-cat that would feel that way for him. Every pawstep he took beside hers, he felt as though he was one step closer to that far away and unimaginably wonderful goal in life: true happiness. Silenteagle didn't see how anyone could walk towards that alone. As she stopped, he instantly sensed something wasn't quite as right as it ought to be. Pausing where he was, the pair of amber eyes turned to watch Duskleaf, who had her head down away from him, asking him a question he could tell was biting at her. Worry panged around in the warrior's head and chest. What did I do? After she voiced her thoughts, though, he relaxed almost instantly, laughing off the question a little. "Of course Duskleaf, I love you. Alot. What would make you doubt that?" Silenteagle was trying to keep the mood light; he really did like the she-cat next to him, and he couldn't ponder how she think otherwise. Maybe she-cats are just like that, heh.[/blockquote][/size]

Duskleaf could see Silenteagle was slightly surprised at the question, and she really hoped she hadn't offended him. But the she saw his expression lighten up and as she heard his reply, relief flooded over her. "Oh Silenteagle!" Duskleaf exclaimed. She nuzzled him affectionatly, burrowing her head in his fur. "I was so worried," She breathed. She looked at the ground, and began to feel dizzy. It looked like everything around her was spinning. But in a nice way- everything now seemed OK again. But still... "Silenteagle...." She began uneasily. "I don't.... I don't feel very well..." She fell heavily onto the ground, although she was still conscious. "I think... I'll just stay here for a bit." She said, trying so hard as to not to worry Silenteagle.

[/b] ilenteagle[/color][/blockquote] cherish the moments we may never again see cherish the power to always be free[/blockquote] The dark tom was very relieved to see her face light up, a glow returning to her chocolate brown features. He purred happily, returning her nuzzle and licking down a patch of fur behind her ear affectionately, feeling pleased that they were on the same page. It must be a she-cat thing. Silenteagle leaned against her a little, enjoying the warmth of her pelt against his shoulder. "I was so worried." Her sentence made him tense just slightly; why was she worried? He had never doubted that she loved him, was she trying to hint that he could have a reason to? Stop that nonsense, you're over-thinking this too much. Just live in the moment. Luckily his good ol brain was there to straighten things out, and the tabby let himself relax once more. Ears perked as she started speaking softly, amber eyes widening in horror as she dropped on her side into the forest debris. In a flash he was crouching by her side, his fur pressed to hers, worry lining his face. What happened?! "Are you sure, do I need to find Ebonyleaf?" The rational part of his mind kicked in again: just get the medicine cat, she would know what to do. She'll be fine I know, but better safe than sorry.[/blockquote][/size]

Duskleaf glanced up at Silenteagle's worried expression. "Please, don't worry.." She begged, but she knew it was too late. "I'll be fine. Just... give me a moment." Duskleaf said softly, her head still whirling. She lay down on her side, panic gripping her heart. What is wrong with me? She couldn't stop herself thinking. "Don't worry Silenteagle," Duskleaf said once again. "I think I just need some water, and maybe a bit of rest." She hoped that he wouldn't mind fetching some water soaked moss for her. But then again, if he was prepared to get Ebonyleaf, he would be prepared to get water.
