- Name: Lavena
- Gender: Femme
- Species: Cat
- Age : 11 moons
- Closest breed: Maine Coon
- Picture URL (if applicable):
- Physical description (if no picture is available): N/A
- Status: Sunset Colony Female
- Rank (if in a colony): Subordinate
- Personality: Lavena seems to have a mind of her own most of the time. When she's told to do something, she'll either deliberately do the opposite or just not do it, depending on her mood or if she's motivated enough. She'll always find a way to make some sort of way to swerve a sarcastic comment into a conversation, and that can usually make others think that she is rude and disrespectful. Most of the time, she doesn't realize she even does it, as it has become a habit with this young cat. If she does realize that what she said might be offensive, either she won't care enough to take back what she said, or say something else to not make it look as bad. She speaks her mind without a problem, and will definitely point out a fault you have if it either gets on her nerves or she thinks you don't know about it. Say you have a lisp, right? The first thing she'll do is scrunch her nose and narrow her eyes, and say something like "Hey, did you know that you talk really weeiirrrdd? It's really strange." Or something of the sort. It's not like she means to hurt their feelings, she just doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut. And it's not like she purposely searches for faults, either; Lavena is just extremely observant of others. Really observant.
One thing about the femme is that she has this weird obsession with competitions. Everything she does with others has to be made into some sort of game, she has to be better at and make herself seem like she has the most improvement or the most talent. If she doesn't get where she wants to be at a certain point and time, she'll pout about it and whine until she gets around to making herself better at it. Lavena is horrible when she loses or doesn't get it right the first time, and will complain until someone shuts her up or yells at her. But because she has so much pride built up in that small body of hers, she won't take criticism lightly, nor will she take being yelled at well either. But with some work, she will learn to cooperate with you if she feels like she has no other choice.
All because she has a competitive and stubborn nature, doesn't mean that her heart is the same way. Lavena is strong, and will help any of her friends get through any problems they might have going on with them. If someone messes with them, pray to your lucky stars that she won't find you and confront you about it. She cares very deeply for all of her friends, though she would never show it to her colonies up front. She likes to seem all tough and strong-spirited so that others know that she can handle anything that life throws at her, and so that others feel like she is a decent member of the colony to have around. Lavena likes the thought of being needed and being considered as part of something, and completely breaks down if that void isn't filled.
- History: Lavena's mother was always known as a bright-souled swimmer that bore the name Ceara, whereas Lavena's father, Becan, was more solemn and quiet tom-cat that wasn't very active in his kittens' lives. Before the single-litter birth of Lavena, Beacan had birthed a litter of three kittens with Ceara previously: Aine, the oldest femme, Bain, Aine's brother, and Fallon, the smallest femme of the litter. Aine, being the oldest, felt as if she was better than her other siblings, especially Lavena. Aine was also the most doted over by her mother previous to Lavena's birth, and quickly became envious of starry-furred kitten. She wasn't used to being "ignored" or made less important by Ceara and Beacan, and being the petulant girl she was, rebelled because of the lack of attention. Negative attention was better than no attention, right? Well, her naive mother quickly dismissed Aine's behavior as something petty and unimportant; as something that should be expected from the older siblings of a new kitten. Well, Aine wasn't too happy about that, and gained the alliance of Fallon, who was as naive and clueless as her mother and felt that it was right what her sister wanted. Bain, on the other hand, thought that Aine's actions were careless and watched carefully over the little body of Lavena.
When Lavena was finally old enough to walk around, maybe when she was two and a half moons old, she instantly favored Bain. She followed her older brother everywhere he went when he allowed it, and quickly learned her place in her family because of him, because he wasn't afraid to tell her when she was going too far. She gained some of Bain's personality traits because they spent so much time with each other, such as his stubborness and strong-willed spirit, and she gained the need to be accepted from Fallon. But the competitiveness and sharp-tongued additude came clearly from Aine, who bossed Lavena around constantly without fail. Lavena grew tired of her sister just because of her nonsensical bossiness, but bit her tongue whenever Aine decided to throw some rude and un-prevoked comment Lavena's way. Whenever she complained to Bain about Aine, he always told her, "Don't even think about giving in to her taunts, Lavena. You'll just fuel her fire and give Aine what she wants, which is a reason to get rid of you. She's just envious, as sad as the truth is. Just ignore her, and everything will be okay." As long as Bain stayed around her, Lavena was able to keep her temper when Aine taunted her. But, Lavena was too proud to keep quiet for long. When Bain was kicked out of the colony when he was nine moons and Lavena was only six moons, all hell broke loose.
It was a quiet, and warm summer day when everything broiled between the sisters. Now that Bain was out of the picture, Lavena had no way to do the much needed venting. Lavena had become the easily lured prey of Aine, and she fell right into her gracious and sneaky paws.
"Hey! Lavena!" Aine called, padding over with her head up high to where Lavena was relaxing. 'Just ignore her, just ignore her... she's just a stupid, jealous cat.' Lavena thought, playing the overplayed words in her head for the millionth time, and closed her eyes. "LAAAAVVVEEEENNNAAAAAA! I'm calling your name, stupid!" Aine taunted. Lavena knew that she shouldn't listen, but Aine's name-calling hurt her pride and reeled her in like a fish to a tempting lure. "What, you stupid piece of foxdung?" Lavena growled. "What could I possibly offer you?" Sarcasm flowed from Lavena's mouth, and her bright, sunny eyes were dimmed to a glare at Aine, who was standing a few foxlengths away. "Oh, what did you just call me? Yell it out loud. You know I'm hard of hearing." Aine sneered. "What, you scared I might rip your face off? Or are you scared that I might run to Mommy and say that you're not as innocent as you might show?" . Lavena didn't know how much more she could take. It had been, maybe, four moons of this nonsense that Aine caused with Fallon, who really couldn't speak for herself. The team was actually really pathetic, when the sunset-furred femme thought about it. Lavena snorted and waved her tail wildy in annoyance as she walked up close to Aine. She wasn't scared of her sister one bit. "I called you a piece of foxdung. A smelly, rotten, old piece of shriveled foxdung." Lavena growled boldly through barred teeth. Aine blinked, a little shocked by her sister's response, but didn't let her bewilderment keep her silent for long. "What did you say, Lavena?" Aine repeated, Lavena's name rolling off Aine's tongue like poison. "Really? Must I repeat myself, oh foxdung-reeking sister? Bleh, you smell just terrible! Just awful!" Lavena said, and scruched her nose and backed away, to emphisize the invisible smell coming off her sister. "I said you smelled like foxdung. Plain and simple. Or, actually, you're made of it. Inside and out." Lavena hissed. Aine noticed the rise of hairs on Aine's back and neck, and her sister snarled. "I'll show you foxdung, you brat!" Aine hissed, and swiped, with claws unsheathed, at Lavena. Lavena realized that this really was all her fault, with all her sarcasm and rude commentary towards her sister, but she didn't care. Really, she just wanted Aine to leave her alone.
The two started fighting, and eventually Aine left the colony with vengence swirling inside of her. It wasn't Lavena that drove her sister away, but moreso the hate that radiated off of everyone in the colony towards her. But with Aine gone, life returned somewhat to normal. Fallon, with no one to follow, tried to regain the trust of Lavena, who only thinks of her as an annoying flea on her fur. Toms have tried to mount Lavena many times, but the proud and independent femme wants nothing to do with kits, nor anything to do with a relationship. She feels like she wasn't meant do have kits. She feels like she was meant to have something more.
