Twisterstar padded back into the camp she only knew too well. She jumped onto the Meeting Rock and spoke the familiar words of a clan meeting. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here under the Meeting Rock for a clan meeting." She paused, watching all the cats in her clan gather or raise their heads as they listened to her, while mourning Applestar. "StarClan has given me my nine lives. I am now Twisterstar, leader of SunsetClan. I'm going to start by giving warriors apprentices." She looked around for Sparrowpaw, Spicepaw, Grievingpaw, Tropicalbreeze, and Disappearingact. She leaped down off of the Meeting Rock while she spoke the following words. "Sparrowpaw, you will be mentored by Tropicalbreeze. Tropicalbreeze, I trust that you will teach him all that you have been taught. Grievingpaw, you will be mentored by Disappearingact. Disappearingact, I ask you to pass on all the knowledge your mentor has taught you to this apprentice. Spicepaw, you will be mentored by me. I will teach you all I know about becoming a warrior." She touched noses with Spicepaw. "The clan meeting is now over." She congratulated all the cats, padding over to the fresh kill pile for some prey she hadn't had time to enjoy since she returned from Ice Creek. She picked out a mouse and ate it ravishly. She sat up and watched over her clan.

Disappearingact Disappearingact looked up from where he was nibbling on his wet vole, and padded to situate himself beneath the meeting rock. He watched as the gold and black she-cat yowled out to them, and he purred softly with admiration. To be a leader must feel amazing. Disappearingact couldn't imagine what it must feel like, to have eight extra lives in addition to the one he was living now. If a cat was very careful....they could potentially live forever, right? The rusty colored tom thought so.
His eyes lit up when he was given an apprentice, and he padded to Grievingpaw and touched noses with the tom, nodding to Twisterwhisp, no, Twisterstar.
"Come now, let's train, Grievingpaw."
He mrrowed to his apprentice before padding towards the camp entrance, hidden in the reeds.

Twisterstar went over to retrieve Spicepaw for his first lesson. It was fairly early in the day, and a perfect day to train. She padded over to where he was sitting. "Spicepaw, let's start your training." Twisterstar began padding her way to the tunnel. Her golden pelt slipped through the brown canvas of a tunnel and stopped right outside the tunnel. She waited for Spicepaw to follow her to the Oak Hill. She sat down and began to lick her paws clean. She sniffed the air alerting herself of any danger. She smelt stale fox, some badger that had been gone for a few days, and some voles and mice. She made a quick lesson plan in her mind for Spicepaw to do today and then sat down and continued bathing her paws.

Spicepaw's eyes lit up when she became Twisterstar's apprentice and she was Twisterstar's apprentice while she was leader. The young she-cat touched noses with her mentor and the padded after her. "What are we going to do today, Twisterstar?" The young she-cat was excited to finally be made an apprentice. She sat down next to her mentor and waited for instructions.
Grievingpaw's head whipped up when he heard that Disappearingact would be his mentor. He turned and touched noses with the older tom and whispered, "What are we going to do first Disappearingact?" The young sullen apprentice became a normal apprentice, excited and cheerful, but only for a moment. Soon he was back to his normal self as he waited for instructions.
Sparrowpaw's sparked with excitement as he padded up to Tropicalbreeze and touched noses with her/him, his tail fluffed out with anticipation. "What are we going to do first? Where are we going? When are we going? When will I be a warrior? Are we going to train with Spicepaw and Grievingpaw? Are we going to train alone? Will I see a fox? Will I see a badger? Will an unknown Twoleg show up after being dead and capture me? No that last question was a joke." Sparrowpaw in all of his excitement blurted out all the questions he could think of to his mentor and waited for a reply.

ooc: Tropicalbreeze is a she-cat.
bic: The yellow and white she-cats eyes glimmered as she was given an apprentice. Wow, what an honor! she thought, quietly. She was getting a better handle on the thinking out loud thing. Living in the wild on your own for several moons does that do you. She touched noses with Sparrowpaw and was assaulted with questions. "Boy, I get stuck with a chatterbox," she said without realizing, "But I best not tell him that. I don't expect us to meet any of those things just yet. But if you do, run away and get help, expecially early into your training. And as for training, I see Twisterstar going with Spicepaw. Let's go with them. If we do meet a badger, I've always wandered what they taste like..." Her eyes glimmered mischieviously as she said this last bit. "Let's go!" she said, "And maybe he'll shut up....

Twisterstar looked down at Spicepaw and answered the young cat's question. "Well, when we get to the oak hill I'll tell you. Alright?" Twisterstar began moving away from the camp entrance. She was glad that she couldn't smell any jaguar yet, she didn't want any of the cats to get hurt. The wind had calmed down a little bit and wasn't buffeting her golden black swirled fur. Her vivid aqua eyes caught some rustling among the brustle. She looked at Spicepaw. "Have you been taught how to hunt?" She smelt the mouse over there, scuttling to find some tasty food for itself. "If you have, try catching that mouse right over there." She flicked her long steady tail towards the mouse.

Spicepaw looked sideways at her mentor and shook her head. She leaned closer to Twisterstar's ear and whispered, "I just became an apprentice remember Twisterstar. Your going to have to catch that mouse so I can see a hunter's crouch." She returned to her normal position and waited for Twisterstar to reply. Spicepaw was very excited to be the leader's apprentice and she knew she would do all she could to be a good warrior of SunsetClan.

Twisterstar's face blushed slightly as she remembered that these cats had never been trained before however old they are. She shook it off and asked Spicepaw a simple question on hunting. "Right, well then, what do you smell?" Twisterstar smelt the air, but not noticeably to Spicepaw. She smelt faint badger, faint fox, and a litle less fain jaguar, but that was it for the enemy. As for the prey, there were mouse, of course, vole, and some robins. Twisterstar was pleased with her self. When she got to the Oak Hill she would show Spicepaw the hunters' crouch.

Laying quietly under a shadey bush near the camp boreder Flowerkit didn't rise for the meeting. She didn't feel up to facing the whispers of how she didn't belong from the others int he clan. Despite being thankful to TwisterStar for taking her in she didn't usually like being stuck here.
As the other cats were apprenticed, & she was not she sighed. Her greenish eyes on the dirt below her white, & blue paws. She thought about torturing the little grass spider there, but then chose to move away from it. Her young lithe body moving in quick silence.
She took a place near the fresh-kill pile, & munched on a small mouse before moving to clean herself. Silently she begun to purr while cleaning her chest, then her right, lilac colored, leg. She licked her white paw, & swiped it over her ears, & face a few times before laying down again. Content in her new place.
(That was lame.)

Twisterstar wandered as she waited for her apprentice to reply to her. She had just remembered little Flowerkit in needing to be made an apprentice. She would have to do it after she returned with the other apprentices. She also remembered Arrowpaw. She needed a mentor too. Her mind shook as she though of the warriors without apprentices. She decided to give Arrowpaw to Bonescar and Flowerkit to Scarletrain. Twisterstar sniffed the air to check if any new scents had approached. She just smelt a bunny which had left already. She didn't want to push Spicepaw, but the apprentice was taking too long to answer her, but Twisterstar's patience held in much longer.

Disappearingact Disappearingact returned after a short break from waiting for Grievingpaw to the camp, headed to the fresh kill pile as a breeze ruffled his thick, long fur. The large tom nosed around amongst the prey before choosing a vole, padding backwards a few steps before laying down and beginning to eat the catch. Disappearingact gazed around the camp lucidly, not really taking note of anything, but enjoying the calm day they had been blessed with. The warrior finished his meal with a bit of grooming, and stood, looking over the reeds and catching a glimpse of the shoreline of the lake. His amber eyes traveled from the lake to the skies, where on the very far horizion, tall white clouds were forming. Interesting. Twitching his nose, Disappearingact sat down and resumed grooming, relaxing himself for the time being.

"Don't bother to say hello, Disappearingact." She hissed quietly without moving from her place near the fresh-kill pile.
She scuffled the dirt with ehr paws a moment before getting up to sit near the water, & watch the shimmering koi in it. They were all so differently colored, yet they moved in harmony, never fighting. Why couldn't clan life be like that?

Glancing to Spicepaw and realized she wasn't going to get an answer she mewed, "Come Spicepaw, let's go to the Oak Hill for some hunting practice." She led the way up to the Oak Hill to begin her training with Spicepaw, but on the way up, found an unusual thing on the hill. She wasn't sure what it was, but she knew it was no good. It smelt of fox. It didn't look like much, just some decomposed fur and dried blood. She made a quick note in her mind to remind the patrols to watch out for any fox scents close to the Oak Hill and the camp. She looked behind her. It wasn't very far from the camp. I hope it doesn't wander any farther. Glancing back at the fur and blood and not picking up much a scent, she sniffed closer and didn't just smell one fox, she smelt three foxes. Not knowing if it were three older foxes or just a mother fox with two kits, she quickly reminded herself to tell the warriors about this too, anytime they go out as she padded farther up the hill.

Disappearingact The tom caught the kit's hissing remark, lowering his ears momentarily in apology before looking back over the lake, and seeing Twisterstar leave with Spicepaw. As he glanced in her direction, a breeze caught the camp downwind, and with it the scent of decay. Disappearingact wrinkled his nose and followed far behind Twisterstar and her apprentice, sniffing at the remains of what appeared to be a fox or two. He stared at the fur and blood in silent horror, nothing in his mind registering as to what might have caused the obviously violent end to the creatures. Something, and something big, has simply shredded them. But what is big enough to kill a fox? The rusty colored tom sniffed more keenly to try to pick up scents of his Clan; perhaps some warriors had simply finished them off. Instead, a heavy, musty smell of fur and power came to him, making Disappearingact back away a few paces, and glance about the hill fearfully. He decided to head back to camp and inform Polarice promptly of what he had found.

Twisterstar padded around the camp. Observing it cautiously. All the warriors seemed to be here, along with the apprentices and Flowerkit. She decided it was about the right time to start a meeting. She leaped up on the Meeting Rock and yowled,
"All cats old enough gather here beneath the Meeting Rock for a Clan Meeting." Her yowled rang across the clearing and a little way past the barriers of the camp. "
I have one apprentice to make, and several mentors to give." She jumped off the Meeting Rock as she called Flowerkit over.
"Flowerkit, it has been far too long for your apprenticeship, so I give it now. Floworkit, from this moment on, until you recieve your warrior's name, you will be known as Flowerpaw. Scarletrain, I give this apprentice to you and promise to teach her everything you know."
She paused and waited for them to sit aside.
"These next ones will be given mentors. Dancingpaw, Leafpaw, Arrowpaw, please step forward. Burningspirit you will mentor Dancingpaw. I trust that you will pass on all that you know about hunting, fighting and will teach her the warrior code well. Bonescar you will mentor Arrowpaw. I hope you will teach him everything that you have been taught. And finally, Leafpaw. You have accepted of becoming out medicine cat apprentice and Pantherblood, I trust, will teach you all that you need to know about herbs and healing the sick, plus much more she knows."
Twisterstar mewed everything clearly. She began to raise her voice in the calling of the apprentices.
"Arrowpaw, Flowerpaw, Dancingpaw, Leafpaw."
She heard many others join with her, as she closed the meeting.

Glitterheart padded out of the Warrior's Den. She had heard the news and she was proud to have Twisterstar as her new leader. She looked around for Arrowpaw, but she didn't see her son, but she saw her daughter sitting outside the Apprentice Den cleaning her pelt. Glitterheart smiled and she then called out, "Arrowpaw! Come here!" The young she-cat waited for her son to appear while thinking about her other son Voidpaw. He also had yet to make an appearance, but Glitterheart wanted Arrowpaw right then.
Dancingpaw looked up when she heard her mother's voice, but when it Arrowpaw that was being looked for then she just went back to washing her pelt. The young she-cat couldn't wait to get her own mentor. Her brother Arrowpaw already had a mentor, but Dancingpaw and her brother, Voidpaw, still had yet to be apprenticed to a warrior. She finished grooming her pelt and went over to her father, "Can you take me out to hunt today? I have nothing else to do and your a warrior so its not like I'll be leaving the camp without permission." Dancingpaw waited for her father to reply.

Disappearingact The rusty colored tom had been keen on reporting his disturbing findings asap, but came to the camp and found himself in the middle of an apprentice ceremony. He yowled the newly named young cats' names before sitting, thinking of his own apprentice. Grievingpaw had not been sighted in almost a day; Disappearingact wondered rather fearfully what might have happened to him. But he pushed all thoughts away as he approached Polarice, the deputy.
"I've found remains of a shredded fox or two outside the camp...the foxes are literally just shredded. Something is out there, it smelled of power and fear."
The tom reported solemnly, still not thinking what could damage a fox so easily, like shredding blades of grass. He blinked a few times before turning and heading to the fresh-kill pile, hungry, but most of his appetite was gone because of what he had found. Picking out a scrawny mouse, the warrior picked at it slowly, watching the actions of the camp, blinking as the sun came overhead, not producing as much light and warmth as normal, he noticed. Leaf-fall is here.

Glitterheart's heart dropped when she saw Disappearingact and remembered how Grievingpaw had disappeared recently and then she thought of something and quickly joined Disappearingact's side. "I'm sorry about Grievingpaw. Maybe he will return when he feels ready to return. If you want I can have Dancingpaw, Arrowpaw, and myself help you find your apprentice. Would that help you have something to do?"
