"I did not know that about Xat boxes, Casting, I appreciate you telling me. The reason I got a xat is because I cannot buy a premium c-box that allows banning, which, as you've seen, comes in handy." --- ~ Oh, that is news to me now. I know for a fact you can ban a member using the chatboxes there without having to be a full member. Access the "messages" page once you have an account and you can ban members from there.

"Not exactly. She wasn't a newborn, but still a kit." -- So she was dead, right? Remind me what happened to her parents?
"Probably." -- Is that a yes or a no?
"Both. The second full moons in months usually have a noticeable blue tint to them." -- Is that so? Wikipedia says, "The effect can be caused by smoke or dust particles in the atmosphere, as has happened after forest fires in Sweden and Canada in 1950 and, notably, after the eruption of Krakatoa in 1883, which caused the moon to appear blue for nearly two years." Is that the case here?
"Again, it is supposed to be a plot twist." -- I fail to see how it could be a plot twist. Perhaps a startling event, but nothing to do with plot. So no one else knows the reason Timebringer was named that?
"And thank you for helping with the spammers." -- It's nothing.

So she was dead, right? Remind me what happened to her parents? --You've asked that twice; she wasn't dead. She was alive.Little is known of her parents, only that they were scented as possible intruders, but the trail went cold and all the Clan cats found was a kit they had apparently abandonned in their haste. Is that a yes or a no? --Some cats might have deformed vocal chords, some might not. I doubt any of the roleplayers here paid attention to a detail as tiny as that. If it will satisfy whatever system you use for realistic roleplay, I'll say Moonsong had deformed vocal chords. Is that the case here? -- Keep in mind Wikipedia is known to be inaccurate, which is why nearly all schools ban use of it for research. Since there was a twoleg war recently, there must have been many explosions, which probably emitted ash. But keep in mind Bluemoon's name sprouted from him having a blue nose, so his name could lean either way. So no one else knows the reason Timebringer was named that? ---No one besides me since he's my character, but I would really much rather keep it secret. There would be too many spoilers if I explained now, and I fail to see why it is so important that he's named that anyway. It would probably help immensely if you took the time to read up on the cats and other information resources here before asking questions. Sometimes the truth is right under your nose. Just curious, are you here to discuss things or roleplay?

"You've asked that twice; she wasn't dead. She was alive." -- How do you propose a lone kitten would survive as such?
"Little is known of her parents," -- It doesn't matter what the characters know. Why weren't they there?
"Some cats might have deformed vocal chords, some might not. I doubt any of the roleplayers here paid attention to a detail as tiny as that." -- "Tiny"? How do you figure that?
"Keep in mind Wikipedia is known to be inaccurate" -- I'm aware of that. I'm also too lazy to invest in actual research if I don't have much motivation to do so.
"No one besides me" -- Does the character himself know? If so, would he answer if another character asked him the reason? If not, do his mother and the leader know?
"There would be too many spoilers if I explained now" -- Would it spoil something if you explained how the heck a name can spoil something?
"Just curious, are you here to discuss things or roleplay?" -- Discuss things.

How do you propose a lone kitten would survive as such? -- I included in my second explanation "they found a kit that seemed to have been abandonned in the parents' haste." Meaning the kit was only abandonned for a few minutes, and the kit wasn't a newborn either. Surely kits don't die the very instant they're alone?
Why weren't they there? -- If you and your spouse were suddenly being chased by the supposed "wild" and "savage" cats, fearing for your lives, you leave pretty fast. Which means you might accidentally drop a kit as you're running and leaping over forest materials.
"Tiny"? How do you figure that? -- Be honest: how many roleplays out there actually ask you if your cats' vocal chords are in tact? Seriously.
Does the character himself know? If so, would he answer if another character asked him the reason? If not, do his mother and the leader know? --Skipping first question. Since none of the other characters here care about another cat's name, they won't ask. They've grown up with these names, they're the norm for the Clans, and if they're an outsider, they'll think the same of all the Clan names. Skipping third question as well. When something is a secret, it won't be a secret anymore once it's told. It's like being told what gift you'll get before you open a present.
Would it spoil something if you explained how the heck a name can spoil something? --It can spoil what cat will do what, and things like that. You probably think it's absurd, but I think it's absurd you're asking questions about names. xD

"Meaning the kit was only abandonned for a few minutes," -- Why? And the parents, they returned to find their kit missing? This is a litter of one, yes?
"If you and your spouse were suddenly being chased by the supposed 'wild' and 'savage' cats, fearing for your lives, you leave pretty fast." -- Why were these cats attacking them?
"Which means you might accidentally drop a kit as you're running and leaping over forest materials." -- And go back and get it. Why didn't they?
"how many roleplays out there actually ask you if your cats' vocal chords are in tact?" -- So you say the standard is only according to the majority? You do whatever everyone else does?
"Skipping first question." -- Why? He does know?
"Since none of the other characters here care about another cat's name, they won't ask." -- And if they did ask?
"Skipping third question as well." -- Why? They do know? Or did someone else tell him to name him that? And does this forum not allow private messages?
"When something is a secret, it won't be a secret anymore once it's told." -- What's the point in keeping this a secret? Will some sort of conflict emerge?
"It can spoil what cat will do what, and things like that." -- Your cats, you mean?
"You probably think it's absurd, but I think it's absurd you're asking questions about names." -- More like questions about character traits, motivations, and actions, centered around naming.

To Clarify my names that you have mentioned, which you mentioned all but Kodiakrose.
I picked those names because I liked them. and like translucent, it hurts me that your picking apart name by name with many questions. Sorry. It's the truth. Crookkit was born with a crook in his tail, thus his name. Nothing more. all the rest of my names are based upon what I chose and what I stuck with, which is Weatherdrop, Valleydancer, Brambleberry, Kodiakrose, and Crookkit. It's silly to keep asking more and more senseless questions about the cats and their history and how they were named and what happened. If you really wanted to know, you'd go read the bios.

My apologies for taking this long.
"Kodiakrose" -- Didn't see that one. What's a kodiak?
"I picked those names because I liked them" -- You know, I'd like to charge a fee each time someone says that. It gets repetitive. I came here to find out things I don't know.
"Crookkit was born with a crook in his tail" -- Have you researched this disorder?
"all the rest of my names are based upon what I chose and what I stuck with" -- Why did the mothers and leaders choose them?
"It's silly to keep asking more and more senseless questions" -- Why do you label them as senseless?
"If you really wanted to know, you'd go read the bios." -- If I weren't lazy.

Felt like I ought to say, if you hate it when someone says they picked a name because they liked it, why come to a site as unrealistic as ours? xD ALL the characters here are based on what we like; there's no point having a character that you hate.

umm just to cut in here, Reflectingpaw was named because of her powers. she can sense other cat's emotions, and how she senses them? as they come near, she feels the emotion they're feeling. such as, if a starving cat walked near her, she may suddenly feel as if she's gone without food for months. so, she reflects their feelings. also, she is responsive to the weather. if it is stormy, she may be much quicker to get angry or depressed. if it is sunny, she is more inclined to be happy and hyper. she reflects the weather.
juust sayin'. ^^

well, i say i <3 all the names here. i will not tell you what a kodiak is, why don't you go research it? and why don't you get up and find out things yourself? your wasting our time by doing this. and no, i have not researched crookkit's disorder, and i don't need to. all i need to know is that he has a crook in his tail. just a few questions for YOU:
why is your name ten?
why do you have a zebra icon?
why did you come here?
why are you asking questions that people are obviously getting sick of?
annoying, isn't it? >;]

Why? And the parents, they returned to find their kit missing? This is a litter of one, yes? ------Refer to the answer a few lines down, they didn't bother stopping, and had other kits with them.
Why were these cats attacking them? -------They weren't, Clan cats often have the reputations of being "fierce", "wild", and "savage". The patrol was just trying to get them to stop so they could talk or drive them away, but the other cats thought they were going to be killed, because that's what rumours in the area said. It's like in the beginning of Into the Wild, where Smudge advises Rusty not to go into the forest because of the supposedly murderous cats inside.
And go back and get it. Why didn't they? --------They each had a few kits they had to carry, and if they were blinded by panic because the supposedly savage forest cats were after them, they might not have even noticed, and the Clan cats were hot on their heels anyway so they probably didn't want to risk stopping. The Clan cats stopped chasing them when they found the kit anyway.
So you say the standard is only according to the majority? You do whatever everyone else does? --------A little confused by your wording, but yeah most roleplays don't ask about deformed vocal chords (because they don't care xD), so we don't ask (because we also don't care about something like that.) Our goal was to not be like everyone else, if you haven't noticed; the Clans, the mutations, the names, etc, they're all fairly different from the norm. And also I wouldn't want to have a site so different in functioning from the others that people would be too confused to join; people are lazy and like for things to be easy.
He does know? -------Of course he knows.
And if they did ask? -------They would have to be a cat from very far outside the Clans to be that surprised by the names to where they asked. If they did ask, good for them, though the cat himself would probably not answer since that is his personality.
Why? They do know? Or did someone else tell him to name him that? And does this forum not allow private messages? ------Well of course they know, but they have better things to do than talk about a certain cat 24/7. Yes we have private messages, why, do you want me to tell you via PM?
What's the point in keeping this a secret? Will some sort of conflict emerge? -----No, it will just ruin the surprise.
"It can spoil what cat will do what, and things like that." -- Your cats, you mean? -----Oyes.
I lol'd when I saw your post kelsey xD not to be offensive (yeahhhh too much ice cream too little sleep).
I know that you are curious about the names but really look at it this way: even if you point out every flaw in the names, will it matter? Not really; we're not going to change the names. It's just a roleplay, a game, based loosely off Warriors as translucent stated. It has the general idea, but many parts have been shifted to make it different and a little more interesting than the average roleplay. And quite frankly, you seem to act rather cold when the books are mentioned, so I get the feeling that you don't like the books (or don't like some parts of them). If that's so, common sense would start an alarm when you found sites based off the books you don't like.
I know that there are many strict fans out there who have opnions on how the naming system should work. It's pointless, and rather rude really. Those "fans" didn't take the time to think up every character and every detail of the book, spend time and money publishing it, illustrating it, and defending it from plagerists, all while making sure plots tie in and millions of fans read it. Can you imagine having millions of people critiquing your hard work and chastising it, and puffing themselves up to crow about how it could be done better? It's easier to be an armchair warrior than an author, I'm sure, but it gets redundant after a while. lolwhut rantplz. I'm not sure if you're one of those said fans; if you are, yay, if you're not, yay. You act like one so there's my train of thought, or maybe my brain is being fooshy.
Also you stated earlier, when someone used the reason that they liked the names, that you came here to find out things you didn't know. Telling from the posts I've read of your visits on other sites, you get that answer nearly every time. Why did you think for an instant that nobody would say that again? xD (and I know we're supposed to be different, yes, but it applies to roleplay mostly. We're still humans who like to have interesting characters that don't bore us.)

I would just like to say (I only read about 2 pages of this) that a cat is not always named because of looks or where they were born. Elementalkit for example. She is my kit in TornadoClan. You could say she was named because of her coat colors, but she got those about a month after her birth. Her mothers original name was Element, and she just named her that because she felt like it! Later in TornadoClan she was renamed Elementalkit after the original name/

My point exactly. Kodiakrose looks nothing like a Kodiak Bear. she's actually rainbow colors. And brambleberry looks nothing like your priginal brown brambles. She's dalmation colored. I could go on forever, but I won't bore you guys xD. I just hope ten won't come to my site.

"if you hate it when someone says they picked a name because they liked it," -- o.o I said I hated it? I don't remember that... ah, well, I don't remember a lot of things I post.
"why come to a site as unrealistic as ours?" -- To ask questions.
"Reflectingpaw was named because of her powers." -- How did her mother notice these when she was a newborn?
"as they come near, she feels the emotion they're feeling." -- Isn't that absorption, not reflection?
"if it is sunny, she is more inclined to be happy and hyper. she reflects the weather." -- Don't most people do that anyway?
"i will not tell you what a kodiak is, why don't you go research it?" -- ...Alaskan brown bear. The cat was named after a bear? Do Alaskan brown bears live in this setting?
"i have not researched crookkit's disorder," -- So you'd agree it's not possible, yes? And I'm quite aware this is a fantasy website. There are somethings that are possible here (cats having four legs) and some that aren't
"why is your name ten?" -- On Neopets I used to have an account by the name of ihavetenfingers.
"why do you have a zebra icon?" -- I like zebras; I feel they symbolize me well, what with their black and white stripes (bold and unique, but orderly and methodical) and their... reputations, if you will.
"why did you come here?" -- Come to think of it, someone told me to.
"why are you asking questions that people are obviously getting sick of?" -- I don't know the answers, that's why.
"annoying, isn't it?" -- Nah.
"the Clans, the mutations, the names, etc, they're all fairly different from the norm." -- Begging your pardon, miss; they are the norm.
"Yes we have private messages, why, do you want me to tell you via PM?" -- Yes. Or maybe you'd rather I keep persisting about it on this thread?
"will it matter?" -- Are you trying to be rhetorical? I'm willing to get into a philosophical discussion with you, if you'd like.
"And quite frankly, you seem to act rather cold when the books are mentioned, so I get the feeling that you don't like the books (or don't like some parts of them)." -- Yes. Haven't I said that? They're junk.
"Can you imagine having millions of people critiquing your hard work and chastising it, and puffing themselves up to crow about how it could be done better?" -- I try not to let myself daydream to that extent.
"You act like one" -- How do you mean?
"Why did you think for an instant that nobody would say that again?" -- Why are you assuming I thought that?
"So hi ten." -- Eyo, madam.
"Her mothers original name was Element," -- Element was the name of her mother or Element was the name which her mother gave to her?
"and she just named her that because she felt like it!" -- What caused her to feel that way?
"Kodiakrose looks nothing like a Kodiak Bear." -- So why did they give her the prefix?
"And brambleberry looks nothing like your priginal brown brambles." -- So why did they give her the prefix?
"I just hope ten won't come to my site." -- -raises eyebrow- You have a site, do you?

Yes, I have a site, not like I'd give you the link anytime soon. Brambleberry and Kodiakrose were given that prefix because their mothers felt like it. They just did. No more questions on that. And yes, Crookkit's, 'disorder' is very possible. You may think the Warrior books are junk, but Erin Hunter herself had Brokenstar, who had a crooked tail. So yes. And I know a cat with a bent tail.

haaaaaay guys how's it shakin' ?
Wishstar is my character, so I mine as well answer whatever snap was asked about her.
No, she doesn't look like a Wish. Far from it. In fact, she actually looks like a mutated skunk.
{{ Her mother was wishing for something better to happen with this litter, her second, because her first litter of kittens had been stillborn: she only had two that time. Wishstar was a part of the second litter, but she was an only kit. Since she was healthy when born, Wishstar's mother named her Wishkit because her wish had come true, even though she would have preferred more than one kit.
Wishstar was also named after my first ever roleplay character: Silverwish, who later became a leader on another site, but there was already another Silverstar so I changed her name to Wishstar so that there wouldn't be a repeat.
I really, with all due respect, don't see the point of this. It's not like we're all going to think up a sufficient history for our cats, change their names accordingly, and make sure there isn't one question we can't answer about them. This is about having fun and roleplaying where we're only loosely based off of Warriors.
Also, as someone pointed out earlier, Brokenstar [from the books] had a crook in his tail, that looked broken, so his mother named him so. Anndddd his mother also said that she may have named him Brokenkit because of the brokenhearted feeling she felt when giving birth to him, because she was a medicine cat and it was forbidden.
I got a headache from reading all this.

"Brambleberry and Kodiakrose were given that prefix because their mothers felt like it." -- Why? Where did they hear the words from?
"And I know a cat with a bent tail." -- A nonfictional one?
"Her mother was wishing for something better to happen with this litter" -- So, in essence, her prefix means, "I have dead siblings"?
